Thermowells, custom

We have made tens of thousands of custom thermowells for various customers, and we can help you design one for your special purposes in various materials from aluminum to plastic.

In general, thermowells are used with temperature sensing devices to isolate the sensor from fluid or gas. They are usually made of a good heat conductor such as brass or aluminum. Stainless is often used in demanding, corrosive environments, though it is a poor heat conductor. In that case the material in contact with the chemical environment is kept thin to lessen heat transfer time. Titanium can be specified for good chemical resistance and heat conductivity.
